Blade 4-in-1 instead of piccoboard PostPosted: Sat Feb 17, 2007 4:23 pm

Ok, the title says it.  Just sitting around one day thinking... the piccoboard is quite expensive when compared to the 4-in-1 for the Blade CP ($100 vs $50 +-).

Both have a receiver, ESC, gyro, and tail mix.

Is there a reason that the Blade's board couldn't be mounted in my Pic when/if my Piccoboard goes?

I'm using a Pic board in a modified CP2 tail for gyro and tail ESC only (brushless main). I blew my 4in1 BEC from a crash that stripped servo + and - when wrapped around the motor pinion, shorting out.
The 4in1 should work in a Piccolo but I found the gyro's too bouncy in left turns with DD tail (Pic board is smoother and suits my cruising to mild acro), probably fine for original style geared tails.

I did it with a Piccolo Pro with all Blade CP electronics, Here is my Thread on it.

I had to buy a Blade CP main motor and kept the Piccolo tail motor.

And a short clip of it hovering.
